The AEC-400G-QDD-4QSFP bridges 8×53.125G PAM4 at the switch to four independent 4×25.78G NRZ QSFP28 legs — with 1310nm optics and FEC built in. AEC-400G-QDD-4QSFP is a 400G breakout active electrical cable that splits a single QSFP56-DD switch port into four independent 100G QSFP28 fiber connections — spanning up to 500 meters over G.652 single-mode fiber with FEC. The QSFP-DD head transmits at 8×53.125G PAM4; the four QSFP28 tails each transmit at 4×25.78G NRZ, at 1310nm wavelength. The built-in Forward Error Correction (FEC) enables 500m reach on standard G.652 SMF without an external FEC engine. Compliant with QSFP-DD MSA and QSFP28 MSA, both connector ends support the standard I²C management interface for hot-plug monitoring, LPMode control, and temperature/voltage diagnostics. Power consumption is 4.5W at the QSFP-DD side and 2.5W per QSFP28 side. Applications span data center MDF-to-IDF links, enterprise campus inter-building runs, 400G Ethernet deployments, and any scenario where 100G server connections need to span beyond the copper reach envelope.
