400G Active Electrical Cable
Push your data center to 400 Gigabits per second over copper — no optics, no compromise. The AEC-400G-QDD delivers 8×56G PAM4 signals with sub-10⁻¹⁵ BER, reaching up to 7 meters while consuming less than 7.5W per end.
The Asteraix 400G QSFP56-DD Active Electrical Cable (AEC) is a hot-pluggable copper cable assembly designed for short-reach, high-density 400G interconnects inside data centers and HPC clusters. It transmits bidirectional 400Gbps data via 8 lanes of 56G PAM4 signaling — without a single optical component, making it more reliable and significantly more cost-effective than AOCs for distances up to 7 meters.
Built to the QSFP-DD MSA and CMIS 5.2 standards, the AEC-400G-QDD integrates a full I²C management interface for real-time monitoring and configuration. It supports post-FEC BER of <10⁻¹⁵ — an error rate so low, it's effectively lossless — making it production-ready for latency-sensitive, mission-critical applications including AI/ML training clusters, financial trading networks, and hyperscale cloud interconnects.
