The QSFP-DD FR4 400G optical transceiver module offers a maximum of 2 km distance for data transmission. The eight 50Gb/s (PAM4) electrical input channels are able to be converted to 4x100Gb/s CWDM (Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing) optical signals. Then, the signals are efficiently multiplexed to form one optical transmission channel at a rate of 400Gb/s. The module is able to divide a 400Gb/s optical input into four distinct CWDM optical channels at one side of the receiver. In order to provide efficient throughput with low latency, these channels can then be converted back to eight 50Gb/s (PAM4) electrical output channels. IEEE802.3cu-2021 400G-FR4 Technical Specification D2p0, and CEI 56G-VSR-PAM4 standards are all fulfilled by the optical module 400GBASE FR4. This method is more reliable and efficient in the transmission of data over long distances because it functions equally in both directions. Data centers for cloud computing, VoIP, as well as AI/ML networks for business, all benefit from the QDD 400G optical transceiver.
