1.6T OSFP Active Electrical Cable
The 1.6T OSFP Active Electrical Cable (AEC) is built for the most bandwidth-intensive environments in modern data centres: AI training fabrics, HPC interconnects and hyper-scale leaf-spine deployments operating at 800G and beyond. Each OSFP end integrates a high-speed DSP that independently retimes and equalises all eight 224G PAM4 lanes, sustaining a post-FEC BER below 10⁻¹⁵ at reach up to 2.5 metres — well beyond what passive copper can achieve at these data rates. The 60-pin OSFP connector follows the OSFP MSA mechanical specification, and the CMIS 5.2 EEPROM map enables rich per-lane monitoring (Rx power, temperature, voltage, fault flags). Compared to active optical cables, AECs eliminate fibre connectors, transceivers and the cleaning protocols they require, cutting both capital and operational cost for distances under 2.5 m. The slimmer 32AWG copper bundle also reduces rack airflow blockage in tightly packed GPU/ASIC trays.
